Our Lab

Welcome to the Cognition, Aging, and Brain Stimulation Lab website!

The lab was founded in 08/2019 (PI, Prof. Dr. Marcus Meinzer). It is part of the Department of Neurology at the University Medicine Greifswald and located only a few kilometers from the Baltic Sea.

Our research is mainly concerned with human cognitive neuroscience. Here, basic research systematically investigates changes in behavior (e.g., language, memory, executive functions, social cognition) and brain function across the human lifespan. These studies use highly controlled behavioral experiments and brain imaging and non-invasive brain stimulation techniques. Translation research directly builds on these studies and aims at developing possible interventions for cognitive impairment in advanced age and common age-associated diseases that are tested in prospective (clinical) trials.
